Sales in practice
Sales in Practice (off & online)
I chose the elective Sales in Practice because it focuses on the practical side of selling – both face-to-face and through digital channels. The idea is that marketing and sales are connected, and as a marketing management
student I should not only be able to design solutions, but also present and sell them.
In the course we work with how a sales organisation functions, how the role of the salesperson is changing, and how social media can be used for social selling. We also practise presenting our ideas in a professional way, so they make sense for the customer or the company.
Topics I have worked on in Sales and Practice
Cultural Intelligence (CQ) – adapting language, behavior, and arguments across cultures to build trust and avoid misunderstandings in international sales.
Personal selling (face-to-face) – using the Sales Wheel: strong 5×20 opening, needs discovery (NASA questions), FAB-based solution presentation, and confident closing.
Website making – planning and building pages/blogs, clear hero/top image, scannable web copy, basic graphic principles (color/typography/whitespace), and SEO fundamentals.
SoMe / Social selling – strengthening LinkedIn/social profiles, creating an organic + paid content plan, starting conversations, and leveraging networks for B2B meetings.
Online selling – outreach via email/DM, landing pages and funnels, value-based copy with FAB, handling objections digitally, and tracking conversions/KPIs.
